BRANKSOME HEATH MIDDLE SCHOOL14th March 2006 Dear Parent/Carer You will remember receiving an information booklet from the Borough of Poole entitled 'Schools for the Future - Consultation paper, which deals with the proposed school reorganisation. The council's 2 preferred models, allowed for both Sylvan First and Branksome Heath Middle School to remain large enough after reorganisation, to be viable as schools and therefore remain open. Option 4 of the consultation stated 'Some other course of action that may be proposed during the consultation period'. You may be aware that Heatherlands First School have proposed to the Local Authority to consider that their school change from a first school to a primary school for children from reception up to year 6. If this option is agreed, it will have implications for both Branksome Heath Middle School and Sylvan First School which will seriously affect our futures as viable schools. We would like to ensure that your views are considered in the consultation, and would urge all our parents to attend the School for the Future Consultation evening at Rossmore Community College on Tuesday 21st March 2006 at 7pm. The staff and governors of our schools look forward to receiving your support. Yours sincerely
