The Governors agreed to reduce the cost of hot school meals to £2.50 a day in the hope that the meals will be more accessible to parents. 

Please see how the system works below:-

Food Allergies: 
If your child has a food allergy, please inform the school in writing of the details of the allergy without delay.
 
Cost:
For those children not on Free School Meals the cost will be £2.50 a day, to cover the costs of the meal plus the increase in numbers of staff required at lunchtime.  For those children already entitled to Free School Meals there is no payment required.  If you feel you may be eligible for free school meals, please ask at the office for details.

Ordering Meals: 
Meals can be ordered to suit your requirements.  You may wish your child to have a meal at school on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.  You do not have to purchase meals for a complete week, however you must place your order by 12.00 noon on the Thursday afternoon before the week in which the meals are required.

Payment: 
Payment Must be received in the school office by 12.00 noon on the Thursday afternoon before the week in which the meals are required. 
 
We would prefer payment by cheque (Payable to Branksome Heath Middle School) as this automatically provides proof of payment.  If you prefer to pay cash please make payment to the school office.  All payments should be placed in a sealed envelope with your child's name and the amount enclosed clearly marked on the envelope.
 
We can accept payment weekly, fortnightly or 3 weekly, to match the 3 week rota menu.  Post dated cheques are not acceptable.  We will NOT be sending out reminders.

If you make a menu selection and payment is not received in the school office by 12.00 noon on the previous Thursday afternoon,  then your order will not be placed and your child will not receive a School meal the whole following week (In this event you will need to provide a packed lunch for your child)

Sickness Refunds: 
If your child is sick we are unable to cancel your meal order and therefore a refund is not possible.

Menu Selections:
Must be received in the school office by 12.00 noon on the Thursday before the week in which the meals are required.  The menu will rotate over a 3 week period.  Menu selection forms are available in reception and on our website www.branksomeheath.co.uk

Educational Trips: 
If your child is involved in an educational trip and will be away from school during the lunch break then a packed lunch alternative will be available.  We will allow sufficient time for you to indicate your packed lunch preference before the school trip date.

If you pre-pay and do not make a menu selection:  We will order the hot meal option and hot dessert for your child unless you notify the school office by 12.00 noon on the previous Thursday afternoon that you do not wish your child to have a meal at school the next week (In this case a refund will be made)

Free School Meals: 
If you do not provide the school with a menu selection by 12.00 noon on the previous Thursday afternoon, then the hot meal option and hot dessert will be ordered for your child for the next week.
   
As the menu rotates on a 3 week basis then if you have previously indicated your menu selection for that week's menu we will order the previous menu selection for your child once again.
